Promenade de Ham-sur-Heure

Description

The route immerses you in the heart of the Eau d'Heure valley in Ham-sur-Heure, where the Saint Roch procession takes place each year. This is one of many folkloric marches in the Entre-Sambre-Et-Meuse region and is listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. The route begins in a spot known as ‘La Praie’. The walk runs along the water and plunges into the woods at Beignée. After the railway line, the walk returns via the streets of the village, where a former quarry and, later, in 1924, a glassworks specialising in hollow glass, once stood.
