Adventure on your doorstep
Charleroi Métropole Tourisme is the tourism platform that groups together the 29 municipalities of Charleroi.

Charleroi, a post-industrial city, fascinates those who love urban and/or underground activities. The surrounding area is formed of plateaus, open landscapes punctuated by small woody valleys and listed architectural heritage.
To the south of the city is a complex of 5 lakes against the backdrop of wild and preserved countryside with features that are unique in Europe and make it a destination for leisure and relaxation. During the year, Charleroi offers activities for everyone. Do you want to get back to nature, practise a sport, enjoy an urban experience, discover heritage or taste local flavours? The two “Pays des Lacs” and “Pays de Charleroi” Maisons du Tourisme have joined together to present the tourist gems of their region.

In this respect, we have created various work and discussion committees that are open to all our members. We would like to develop sustainable and eco-responsible tourism. The first actions we have taken are to redesign our brochure to limit printing and use recycled paper. The staff members have also taken steps to reduce our impact on the environment: carpooling, selective waste sorting, collaborative composting, sharing information on local products, minimal printing, etc. Our team’s values are: Skills, Support, Responsiveness and Anticipation. Developing inclusive and participative tourism. Each tourist is invited to subscribe to our traveller’s charter.

Le Pays de Charleroi
"It’s a land of contrasts where the landscapes mix and offset each other to create an unforgettable experience. Walk along the towpath of the Sambre river, at the heart of the industrial wasteland, surrounded by street art, then climb to the top of a slag heap, to admire the beautiful panorama across the city and the natural wealth of its hinterland. This is the diversity we want you to discover. We will do everything to welcome you and share our passion for a unique region."
