Cemetery of Bois du Louvrois

Description

Tarcienne military cemetery holds the grave sof 394 French, 153 German and 2 Russian soldiers and an ossuary housing the remains of unknown German and French soldiers. In addition to the soldiers' graves, the cemetery is the site of two special monuments: one dedicated to the French Corporal André Jéramec, the other to German officer Frederick-John of Saxe-Meiningen, both of whom were killed in action on 23 August 1914 during the Battle of Charleroi.
