Bois du Grand Oupia

Description

The path alternates between dense woodland in the Bois du Grand Oupia and superb views of the shores and coves of Plate Taille Lake. The first part of this route plunges deep into a magnificent deciduous forest. The path here is undulating, at times technical and rugged, making it ideal for spotting signs of local wildlife. The path then emerges onto the shores of Plate Taille Lake. You’ll walk alongside winding coves which, in fine weather, offer superb panoramic views of the calm, waters with turquoise reflections. The end of the loop follows a tarmac section of the Ravel cycle route that runs alongside Plate Taille Lake. This lake is home to the main dam (the only one in Belgium that can be visited from the inside), a hydroelectric power station, and the only official beach authorised for swimming (Espace Fun).
