Description

Every five years, the people of Beaubourg like to reconstruct their famous legend and wish it more grandiose from edition to edition. On Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, 2025, the entire city will relive to the rhythm of the 16th century: a frank fair, fights between artists, flag-throwers, Bagad, minstrels and fire-eaters,...

The highlight of the show will obviously be, on Sunday, the reconstitution of the legend itself.

Saturday 04 October


- 14h00: opening of the Franche-Foire

- 15h30: Welcome of Charles V and his court at the Saulchoy gate (Esplanade Park)

- 16:00: Basque oath of Charles de Croÿ, presentation of keys to the city on the Grand'Place

- 16h15: erection of the Golden Eagle on the Grand'Place

- 16h30: Departure of the procession towards the Beguinage square

- 18h30: Mass of the brotherhoods in the church of Saint-Servais

- 19h30: Walk with lanterns in the streets of the city from the Beguinage Square

Sunday 05 October


- 8h30: setting up the bivouac, arrival of the troubadours at Chaussée F. Deliège

- 9h00: opening of the Franche-Foire

- 9h15: arrival of the Auvergnats

- 10:15: altercation between Emperor Charles V and the 3 Auvergnats

- 10h30: arrest of the Auvergnats at the Porte du Saulchoy (Esplanade park)

- 10h50 – 11:20: street fights on the Grand'Place

- 11h00: departure of the first procession

- 12:00: judgment on the Grand'Place

- 12:15-12:45: flag launchers on the Grand'Place

- 12:10: departure of the second procession

- 13:00: hanging on the Grand'Place

- 13h30: gathering of the groups at the Beguinage Square
